Days in the city

The past days have been rather quiet and predictable, but not dull at all! I enjoy this season the most; everything feels very refreshing and new. Despite the fact that the weather seems to be regressing (after 18 degrees, we went back to 5!!), I crave for some time by the sea reading a book, without being annoyed by rather talkative people!

So, long story short, I finished reading Lolita (marvellous book!), I went to the University and after that I met with my best friend for a coffee and ate that delicious chocolate muffin, and later on we discovered a very well hidden underground bookshop!! I also finished cross-stitching the small rose and I'll send it this week to my grand-mother!

During those days I wore my brand new braided headband made by my mom! You can also see it at this post at the Petit Tricot blog!

The past week a group of bloggers from Thessaloniki were invited to the presentation of the new Accessorize and Monsoon spring collection On the occasion of the renovation of one of the Accessorize shops. It was a sweet opportunity to meet the girls, Joanna and Dimitra, who organised the whole thing, and get to see all the new things in the shop!

We were rather enthusiastic with all the shiny and romantic necklaces and earrings, the floral and retro sunglasses, the stationery and of course the countless bag designs!! Everything was based on the five styles: Eden, Bloom, Debutante, Geisha and Indigo. India and Bollywood were the main inspiration for most of the accessories. The shop was the first to be renovated; neutral, calm colors and quirky colourful details along with the lighting offered a refreshing result! We were glad to learn about the new designs, but -mostly- we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to choose our favorite thing and take it as a gift!

Despite the fact that I was dizzy with all the necklaces, pendants, rings and hair accessories, I chose a backpack with really interesting and beautiful motives, which will accompany me from now on, as it is handy,     comfortable and ideal for those heavy books I'm carrying everyday!

bliss

The last few days I felt rather uninspired and that's why I didn't post anything new! Fortunately spring came along, my winter job is coming to an end, which means that the weather is sunny most of the time. So, it's the flower time of the year, which I enjoy the most!

Today I went downtown and I bought some yarn, threads, a book and some flowers! I am cross stitching this flower -which looks really small and simple, but it's not!- for my grandmother, I'm reading Lolita and I'm about to finish knitting my jumper before I start knitting my scarf!Soon enough you'll get to see all the knitted creations at the renovated Petit Tricot blogspot. Me and my mother really want to give this whole thing a try, so we'd really appreciate it, if you could stop by and drop a line or two! Also, for inspirational reasons, Petit Tricot got a tumblr blog!

What have you been up to lately?!

 I'll be back soon!

Hearts and bows (&patterns)!

I am more than excited to announce that my exams are finally over and I have plenty of time to do whatever I want! I've already booked tickets for my travel in March and I'm getting prepared for the ballet classes I'll take! It seems like my days will be long again, without anxiety and endless pages of history, politics or economics. Since my creativity is back for good, yesterday I decided to try and crochet some little hearts and a bow. The patterns are really easy, so I thought I could easily share them with you!

   photo IMG_8259_zps84858963.jpg photo IMG_8261p_zpsda682c83.jpg photo IMG_8258_zpsad33c154.jpg photo IMG_8263_zpsfa868628.jpg photo IMG_8265_zpsb37336a5.jpg

 Bow pattern
Ch.37 sc for 7 rows. Sew the two ends with the same yarn, with 7 sc. Sew the ends. With the same yarn start wreathing what you've knitted right in the middle. Be sure that you do it tightly enough. Sew the end, and your bow is ready!

 Heart pattern
Wrap the yarn around your index finger one round and a half and be sure to keep the end out. Ch4, 5 dc, 1tr, 5dc; after you've done the 5th dc, ch3 and end with a slip stitch in the middle. You can control the size of the hole by pulling the end from the round you did at the very beginning!!

If you already know how to crochet, both patterns are more than easy. If you don't know, I could try and upload a tutorial!I've also written the american words and abbreviations, which are more widely known, but if you have trouble understanding something, don't hesitate to email me!! Have fun!

Edges

This last exam period I experienced the ultimate boredom! I was studying or working and did nothing else..so, yesterday I was in despair, and I left aside studying for a while to create something; honestly, this break gave me back the energy to continue studying and the urge to succeed! Searching for an inspirational idea, I bumped into One sheepish girl (once again!) I saw a post about crocheting edges around cute and quirky illustrations, so I sat down and crocheted this calendar, which you can download for free, and another illustration, that I found on tumblr unfortunately without any source mentioned..(the huge con of tumblr)!

It was a really fun project to do, despite the fact that I had to be more careful, thus not to rip the paper off!Now the first, as you alerady saw, is decorating my door and the other one is on the side of my library - a happy and pop touch in my routine!

How about you?Did you try anything new lately?

 Have fun!

Late January..

For the past five years the last days of January are always full of studying and therefore stressful! This time is not an exception and for the past days I have been doing nothing but studying. Hopefully, I'm giving myself tiny breaks by going for a walk by the sea or downtown with a friend..!

Black leather

Lately, my routine has got to do with studying, rather than creating, due to my exam period. My brother's left, and there's only me, trying to study, since my mind is -as always- elsewhere!Unfortunately, weekends are tiring also, because on Saturdays I work at the mountain!Luckily, I got some time to take some photos and make a double outfit post, it's something!
