The past week a group of bloggers from Thessaloniki were invited to the presentation of the new Accessorize and Monsoon spring collection On the occasion of the renovation of one of the Accessorize shops. It was a sweet opportunity to meet the girls, Joanna and Dimitra, who organised the whole thing, and get to see all the new things in the shop!

 We were rather enthusiastic with all the shiny and romantic necklaces and earrings, the floral and retro sunglasses, the stationery and of course the countless bag designs!! Everything was based on the five styles: Eden, Bloom, Debutante, Geisha and Indigo. India and Bollywood were the main inspiration for most of the accessories. The shop was the first to be renovated; neutral, calm colors and quirky colourful details along with the lighting offered a refreshing result! We were glad to learn about the new designs, but -mostly- we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to choose our favorite thing and take it as a gift!

 Despite the fact that I was dizzy with all the necklaces, pendants, rings and hair accessories, I chose a backpack with really interesting and beautiful motives, which will accompany me from now on, as it is handy,     comfortable and ideal for those heavy books I'm carrying everyday!

Outfit post: By the sea

I asked from my best friend to make this post because as you can see I still don't have an internet connection! These photos are from a few weeks ago,on a warm Friday afternoon by the sea!

Apart from taking the photos, she also styled my hair in this super cute braided style!

Kisses!

Haute Couture is art.Not routine clothing!

First of all I have to apologize for my absence!Put the blame on Comparative Politics!!Now, if you please, I'll start properly my article!! :)

I was watching collections of Haute Couture.Passed ones or present ones..I simply adore them. Unfortunately I was in 1990, so for me it was written: I would never be able to wear the kind of dresses, that women wore in 1700's, 1800's or 1900's!I was born at the beginning of a new century, of a new millenium, a new lifestyle and of the revolution of technology!Not that I don't like it at all, but women used to pay actual attention to their looks, to what they wore. It isn't necessary to mention that I adore vintage!But still..

The Haute Couture of today is based on the trends of the past!Women were dressed like this. (Obviously I'm not referring to the extravagant or super-future collections!) So, Haute Couture creations are not for someone. They're just there to remind us that fashion is art. A sort of. Haute Couture is the kind of place, where the designers can show us how they imagine clothes in their very own dreamworld!

My point is, that Haute Couture should be admired anyway and not be criticised as ''a useless cloth''.Art isn't criticised that way. People analyze it!!Who could tell that Cristobal Balenciaga (or now Nicolas Ghesquière) is exagerating?Or that Lacroix was too colorful?? Haute Couture is there to affect our style positively!!

P.S. All that came after a conversation I had about Haute Couture designers and their creations and how pointless or not they are..

~~~
Κατ'αρχήν θέλω να ζητήσω συγγνώμη για την απουσία μου, αλλά βασική υπαίτια είναι η Συγκριτική Πολιτική!Τώρα, με την άδειά σας, θα ξεκινήσω σωστά το άρθρο μου!! :)
Έβλεπα Haute Couture collections.Παλιές και περασμένες ή τωρινές.. και πολύ απλά τις λατρεύω όλες!Δυστυχώς γεννήθηκα το 1990, οπότε η μοίρα μου είχε γραφτεί: δεν θα μπορούσα ποτέ να φορέσω τα φορέματα εκείνα που φορούσαν τον 17ο, 18ο ή 19ο αιώνα!Γεννήθηκα στην αρχή ενός νέου αιώνα, μιας νέας χιλιετίας, ενός νέου τρόπου ζωής και στο ξέσπασμα της ψηφιακής επανάστασης. Όχι πως δε μου αρέσει καθόλου, αλλά τότε οι γυναίκες πρόσεχαν στην ουσία και στη λεπτομέρεια την εμφάνισή τους, το τι θα φορούσαν. Δεν χρειάζεται προφανώς να αναφέρω πως λατρεύω τα vintage ρούχα. Αλλά και πάλι..
Η σημερινή Υψηλή Ραπτική βασίζεται στις τάσεις παλαιών εποχών. Οι γυναίκες ντύνονταν έτσι! (Προφανώς δεν αναφέρομαι στις extravagant και τις φουτουριστικές collections!)Έτσι, λοιπόν, τα ρούχα Υψηλής Ραπτικής δεν ράβονται για κάποιον. Είναι εκεί για να μας θυμίζουν πως η μόδα είναι τέχνη. Ένα είδος της. Η Υψηλή Ραπτική είναι τρόπον τινά ο τόπος, όπου μπορούν οι σχεδιαστές να μας δείξουν πως φαντάζονται τα ρούχα στο δικό τους ονειρικό κόσμο!!
Πού θέλω να καταλήξω; στο ότι η Υψηλή Ραπτική θα έπρεπε να θαυμάζεται ούτως ή άλλως κι όχι να κριτικάρεται ως ''ένα άχρηστο ρούχο''. Καμμιά μορφή τέχνης δεν δέχεται τέτοιου είδους κριτική. Η τέχνη αναλύεται. Ποιός θα μπορούσε να πει πως ο Crisobal Balenciaga (ή τώρα ο Nicolas Ghesqière) υπερβάλει, ή ότι ο Christian Lacroix έχει πολύ χρωματιστές δημιουργίες;;Η Υψηλή Ραπτική υπάρχει για να επηρεάζει το στυλ θετικά!! ;)
Υ.Γ. Όλο αυτό είναι απόρροια μιας συζήτησης περί του αν η Υψηλή Ραπτική και οι δημιουργίες της είναι κάτι το άχρηστο ή όχι..
~~~

And now some pictures..My ''Vive Romanticism'' mood is obvious!!
